Pittsburgh Alternative Metal

During the Pittsburgh Renaissance, the "Steel City" was rebuilt from more than the town's ferrous namesake. Between 1950 and the early 1970s, new towers skinned in stainless steel and aluminum—in a wide range of daring architectural styles—rose from the reimagined downtown landscape between the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers.
