S.C. Johnson Wax Headquarters
Built between 1939 (Administration Building) and 1950 (Reseach Tower), the S.C. Jonson Wax Headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin was part of Frank Lloyd Wright's re-emergence back onto the world architecture scene. Built contempraneously with Fallingwater, S.C. Johnson is radically different in materials and design, favoring brick over stone and industrial over organic. Still apparent is Wright's emphasis on the horizontal, even in the later horizontally layered Research Tower.
